Have you ever heard of a happiness study and practice center? With the purpose of training strong and happy people, prepared to transform their lives and the world, Villa Global Education announced in 2024 the creation of the Villa Happiness Center, a hub for studies and practices of the Science of Happiness.
The initiative represents a significant advance by the school towards an integral, complete and meaningful education. Inspired by examples around the world, the project stands out as a pioneer in Brazil. The center was developed to make Villa’s organizational purpose tangible in a practical way, with a focus on enhancing the development of happiness in students, families and employees.
The project follows international trends, combining physical, emotional, intellectual, relational and spiritual elements, highlighting the need to nurture this positive internal state at school.
The “Villa Happiness Center” project represents another innovative step towards a comprehensive education, preparing students not only intellectually, but also emotionally for the challenges of the future.
”The Villa Happiness Center is not just an addition, but rather a catalyst, a place where the school’s purpose becomes tangible, fostering an environment that nurtures not only the intellect but also the hearts and souls of everyone who is part of this educational community”, highlights Viviane Brito, CEO of Villa.
“I am clear that translating the principles of positive psychology into school practices requires a high investment in the training of educators, calls for a considerable effort in the transversal alignment of content, in addition to requiring careful management of the curriculum so as not to alienate the purpose and mission of the school. Despite this, I am willing to face the challenge of implementing ‘happiness’ in my work as an educator and in the lives of my students”, she says enthusiastically.
The physical works to install the Villa Happiness Center have already begun at the school’s campi in Paralela and Litoral Norte. The project begins to operate later this year, with a weekly schedule of activities, in this first phase, for the internal community and later the project will be expanded and opened to the general public.
